Several educational institutions in Delhi have announced changes to their schedules for Saturday, October 10, ahead of a proposed Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar. The measures include shifting some classes online, cancelling school activities and postponing mid-term examinations at two colleges, PTI reported.

The protest is being held over demands for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The CJP has alleged irregularities in the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and raised concerns over the deletion of voters’ names.

Two colleges have postponed their mid-term examinations scheduled for Saturday, citing anticipated restrictions on metro services and possible travel disruptions.

Delhi Police Seeks Closure Of 57 Metro Stations

The schedule changes come after the Delhi Police asked the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to close entry and exit gates at 57 metro stations from 9 pm on Friday until further notice.

The request cited the proposed Jantar Mantar protest and the possibility of unruly movement towards sensitive locations. The anticipated restrictions have prompted colleges to revise examination schedules, while some schools have separately cited student safety and security concerns for their decisions.
