The Directorate of Education, Delhi, has officially introduced the 'Meri Seva, Mera Sankalp' short video and reel-making competition across all Delhi government schools. Organized as part of the broader, month-long Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan, the initiative provides students with an engaging platform to express their vision of public service, civic duty, and nation-building using digital storytelling. School-level activities under the campaign run from September 17 through October 17, 2026.

The initiative aims to move beyond traditional essay writing by using short-form video content familiar to young audiences. Students are encouraged to capture real-life everyday actions that contribute positively to local communities, connecting individual efforts with the broader national vision of 'Viksit Bharat @2047'.

Key Themes for Reel Submissions

Students can craft their entries around everyday acts of service and civic responsibility, focusing on topics such as:

  • Jan Bhagidari (people's participation in community progress)

  • Cleanliness drives and protecting local public spaces

  • Environmental sustainability and protection

  • Compassion and assistance for elderly or vulnerable individuals

  • Respecting public property and national symbols

  • Innovative concepts for social good and community welfare

Competition Timeline and Multistage Evaluation

The competition follows a structured, phased calendar across different administrative levels:

School-Level Activities: September 17 to October 17, 2026

District-Level Competitions & Exhibitions: October 8 to October 10, 2026

State-Level Exhibition, Final Competition & Felicitation: October 12 and October 13, 2026

Parallel Drawing and Speech Contests

In addition to the reel competition, Delhi government schools are hosting drawing and speech contests. The drawing competition caters to two age categories: 5–12 years and 12–18 years.

Meanwhile, the speech competition is open to senior students in Classes 10, 11, and 12, who can present their addresses in either English or Hindi.
