IIT Hyderabad PhD Admission 2027: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad has opened online applications for PhD admission across several subjects. Eligible candidates can apply via the institute’s official website from October 21 to November 10, 2026, for the January 2027 session. The application process will conclude on November 10, 2026.

Admissions Offered In Three Categories
IIT Hyderabad will offer PhD admission for the January 2027 session in three categories:
1. Regular Admissions: Open for candidates meeting the institute’s admission criteria.
2. Special Direct Admissions: Candidates meeting the required eligibility criteria and having a high CGPA.
3. External Admissions: Available for candidates affiliated with external institutions or organizations.
Candidates must apply as per their educational qualification and requirements for their respective category. However, eligibility and selection criteria may vary for each course. Therefore, candidates must read the specific admission criteria before applying.
Educational Requirements For PhD Admissions At IIT Hyderabad
Candidates must have an ME/MTech, MS (Research), MS (Engineering), Integrated Masters, MPharma, or medical degree (MD/MS) for the regular PhD admissions. Alongside this, applicants must also have a first-class degree in the relevant discipline.
Applicants with an MSc degree are also eligible. However, they must have a first-class degree in the relevant discipline and must follow the prescribed eligibility criteria of GATE, CSIR, UGC, DST-Inspire, ICMR, NBHM, DBT, or an equivalent examination.
