WB Madhyamik Exam 2027: Amidst preparations for the 2027 Madhyamik (secondary) examination, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has issued important guidelines for all recognized secondary schools in the state regarding the Class 10 'Selection Test' (Selection Test 2026).
The Board has clarified the procedures for preparing question papers for the Selection Test, conducting the examinations, and submitting the question papers once the exams conclude. These directives aim to ensure uniformity in the examination process, maintain the quality of the question papers, and guarantee that they align with the prescribed syllabus.
Schools Must Submit Question Papers on the Day of the Examination
According to the Board's directives, all concerned schools are required to send a scanned copy (soft copy) of the question paper for each subject to a designated email ID provided by the Board on the very day the Selection Test for that subject is conducted. Schools must strictly adhere to the prescribed procedures and timelines. The Board has clarified that the responsibility for submitting the question papers lies solely with the respective schools.
WBBSE Teachers Must Prepare the Question Papers
The WBBSE has entrusted the responsibility of preparing question papers to the subject-expert teachers within each school. This means that for any given subject, the question paper must be prepared by the teacher of that specific subject at the school where the examination is being held. The involvement of external agencies or groups consisting of multiple schools is not permitted.
Questions Must Align with the Prescribed Syllabus:
The Board has also provided clear instructions regarding the content of the question papers. All questions must fall within the scope of the curriculum and syllabus prescribed for Class 10. Furthermore, the question papers must not contain any controversial or objectionable material that could potentially harm the reputation of the Board or the state. The examination must be conducted in accordance with the schedule previously issued by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education.
Submission of Question Papers Does Not Imply Participation In the Board Examination:
The Board has further clarified that there is no guarantee that the question papers submitted by any school will be used in the examination conducted by the Board. Only question papers from schools with valid recognition will be accepted. The final decision regarding which of the submitted question papers will be selected shall rest with the Board.
