NTA Recruitment Drive:  Amidst the NEET examination irregularities and mass protest access the country, the National Testing Agency has begun a major institutional overhaul to strengthen its operations and recruitment process. Dismissing 47 47 officials, the agency has launched the appointment process for senior professionals and Young Professionals to uphold its integrity and accountability. Working as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education, NTA has issued recruitment advertisements for four General Managers under major operational works. Alongside, it will also recruit 16 young professionals through the UPSC's Pratibha Setu portal for the first time. This decisive step is taken following recommendations submitted by the expert High-Level Committee, which is chaired by Professor K. Radhakrishnan.

4 General Managers and 16 Young Professionals

4 General Managers To Oversee Critical Areas

NTA will recruit four General Managers for managing critical areas and overseeing functional aspects of the agency. Their role will be specific to Assessment Research and Psychometrics, Test Centre Network and Operations, Information Security, and Vigilance, Investigation and Forensics. The examination will be conducted across more than 500 selected cities in India and selected international locations. These appointments are aimed at strengthening examination systems, cyber security, test centre management and internal investigations. 

The General Manager for Information Security will function under the NTA’s Chief Information Security Officer. He/She has to ensure that the exams comply with the cyber security protocols, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the IT Act, 2000, CERT-In guidelines and oversight of a 24×7 Security Operations Center.

16 Young Professionals To Be Recruited For Academic Support

For the very first time, NTA will recruit 16 young professionals through the  UPSC’s Pratibha Setu portal. Previously, it was known as the Public Disclosure Scheme. Among the 16 positions, 12 will be associated with academic research, while two each will be distributed in the legal and finance divisions. These young professionals are recruited to ensure the agency runs smoothly. 

More Educational Reforms To Follow

The recruitment drive is the first step toward the institutional haul towards implementing the K. Radhakrishnan committee’s recommendations. In the coming weeks, many such recruitments and empanelments will take place across different verticals of the agency, including subject matter experts and translators.
