School Holiday On Monday: All government and private schools, along with Anganwadi centres, in Odisha's Nabarangpur district will remain closed tomorrow due to heavy rainfall and worsening flood-like conditions. A low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal has triggered heavy rainfall across several parts of Odisha. Weather alerts, including Red, Orange and Yellow warnings, have also been issued for different districts.
Heavy Rain Raises Water Levels
Continuous rainfall has caused water levels in several rivers and canals in Nabarangpur to rise significantly, resulting in overflowing conditions and disruption of normal life.
Traffic has also been affected as water is flowing over National Highway No. 26 near the town.
Road Connectivity Disrupted
The rising water level of the Sindhi River at Khatiguda has disrupted connectivity between Devpali and Khatiguda. Water is also flowing over the canal bridge near Dahana, affecting the connection between Nandahandi and Dahana.

District Administration Orders Closure
Considering the heavy rainfall, rising water levels and disruption of road connectivity, the district administration has decided to keep all government and private schools and Anganwadi centres closed tomorrow as a precautionary measure.
Parents are advised to keep children indoors and avoid sending them near rivers, canals or waterlogged areas during heavy rainfall. They should closely monitor official announcements from the district administration and schools for further updates.
Parents should also ensure that children avoid travelling through flooded roads or damaged routes. Follow weather warnings and take necessary precautions until normal conditions are restored.
