Candidates interested in building their career in government departments like Income Tax, Customs, CBI, CBDT & CBEC, etc., can register online at ssc.gov.in. SSC CGL 2026 is conducted to fill approximately 12,256 vacancies across various government departments. The exam is held annually by the SSC to recruit eligible candidates for Group B and Group C posts in ministries, departments, and government offices across India.

How to Apply For SSC CGL 2026?

Candidates can follow the given steps to apply online for the SSC CGL 2026:

Step 1: Go to the SSC official website at  ssc.gov.in/login.

Step 2: Click on the "New User? Register Now" option

Step 3: Enter the required details to register. You will get your registration number and password.

Step 4: Log in with your credentials and complete the SSC CGL 2026 application form. 

Step 5: Upload mandatory documents, including scanned copies of your signature and photograph.

Step 6: Pay the application fee and submit the form. 

SSC CGL 2026 Notification: Who’s Eligible?

Each post under the SSC CGL recruitment 2026 requires different eligibility criteria. In general, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. The age bracket must be between  18 and 32 years old, depending on the specific post as of 1 August 2026. However, there is age relaxation for reserved category candidates. Additionally, candidates must be citizens of India, Nepal, or Bhutan to be eligible for the exam.

SSC CGL selection process includes two stages, namely, Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams. Candidates qualifying in the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam will be eligible for the Tier 2 exam, scheduled in December 2026.
