Highlights: BJP Defeats Congress To Retains Power In Madhya Pradesh

The candidates, who won their contested seats in MP, were given certificates by the Election Officer in Bhopal.

Union Minister Narendra Tomar said the MP government would work for the people after they were given a huge mandate. He said the BJP has its procedure and the CM face will be decided after that. 

Jaivardhan Singh, Madhya Pradesh Congress leader and son of Digvijaya Singh, said they did not expect such result in three states. He said they had faith in Kamal Nath’s rule of 15 months but were not able to convey their words to the voters. 

Incumbent MP Chief Minister and BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan registered a massive victory in Budhni Assembly seat, ANI reported. He defeated Congress’ Vikram Mastal by 1,04,974 votes.  

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to regain power in Madhya Pradesh for the second consecutive term. As of 5:30 PM, the BJP is leading on 167 seats and Congress is leading on 62 seats.

BJP candidate Ghanshyam Chandrawanshi defeats sitting Congress MLA Kunal Choudhary from Kalapipal in Madhya Pradesh by 11,765 votes. The saffron party is to set a comeback in the state and is currently leading by 166 seats.

 As BJP is leading in Madhya Pradesh, female supporters of CM Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and party workers were seen Hindi film song 'Phoolon ka taaron ka' on brother-sister relationship. The women were also seen carrying flowers in their hands as they sang the song.

As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in three states including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, the party leaders were seen cherishing and celebrating the possible victory of the saffron regime. 

State Congress president and candidate from Chhindwara, Kamal Nath is leading by a margin of 15,623 votes after the ninth round of counting, garnering a total of 57895 votes so far.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Madhya Pradesh is inching closer to regain power again. Party headquarters in Bhopal were seen celebrating as counting of votes in the state is underway. The BJP though had fielded three central ministers Narendra Singh Tomar, Prahlad Singh Patel and Faggan Singh Kulaste to tackle the perceived anti-incumbency against Chouhan.

Meanwhile, CM Chouhan's schemes for women like the 'Ladli Behna Yojana' under which Rs 1250 are being transferred monthly to eligible women from poor families in the state has boosted the power of the party.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday said that PM Modi is in the heart of Madhya Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh is in the heart of PM Modi.

"Modi ji MP ke mann mein hain aur Modi ji ke mann mein MP hai. He held public rallies here and appealed to the people and that touched people's hearts. These trends are a result of that. Double-engine government properly implemented the schemes of the Central Government and the schemes that were formed here also touched people's hearts. Madhya Pradesh became a family...I had said earlier too that the BJP would get a comfortable and grand majority as people's love for us was visible everywhere," he said.

According to the latest trends of the Election Commission of India, BJP's Kailash Vijayvargiya is leading from the Guna seat with 8179 votes so far. Indian National Congress' Sanjay Shukla trails with 3911 votes.

According to the latest trend by the Election Commission of India, the Bharatiya Janata Party is leading on 85 seats in Madhya Pradesh, while the Congress is leading on 36 seats.

MP Election Result 2023 Live Updates: Ladoos have been brought at the party office of Congress in all the states ahead of the results.  Madhya Pradesh Congress president Kamal Nath and other leaders of the party gathered at the state party office in Bhopal on Sunday. 

MP Election Result 2023 Live Updates: Exuding confidence in Congress, Senior Congress leader and two-time Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh on Sunday said that his party will get over 130 seats.

"I had said this earlier and I say it today as well - 130 plus. We are getting 130 seats; the rest is to be seen. Not only is his farewell (Shivraj Singh Chouhan) certain but his 'achhe din' also ends here," Digvijaya Singh said.

MP Election Result 2023 Live Updates: As the counting in the state is underway in Madhya Pradesh, Union Minister and BJP candidate from Narsinghpur, Prahlad Singh Patel offered prayers at his residence.

As the counting of votes is underway, State BJP president VD Sharma said that he believes the BJP will win the most seats till this date and create history adding that it will happen under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Congress released the party manifesto on October 18 in Madhya Pradesh. Among its promises, the party promised the central state of MP that it will attempt to give it representation in the Indian Premier League
(IPL) cricket as it woos voters ahead of next month's regional
elections.

During the 2018 assembly elections, the Congress registered a victory and formed a government led by Kamal Nath. However, in 2020, several close MLAs of Nath resigned, leading to a collapse of the Congress government. The power was then taken over by BJP and Shivraj Singh Chouhan was made the Chief Minister of the state.

As of the early trends at 8:20 AM, Congress is leading in Madhya Pradesh in 50 seats and the BJP is leading at 45. There are a total of 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh and the seat is currently held by Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

According to early the early trends, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading on 30 seats in Madhya Pradesh and the Congress is leading in 27 seats.

The counting of votes in 230 seats of Madhya Pradesh began at 8 AM on Sunday, with tight security forces being deployed at the poll counting centres. Both BJP and Congress are in a close fight in the state. While the BJP eyeing on another consecutive term, Congress hopes for a sweeping victory.

Madhya Pradesh Result Live: BJP leader and State minister Narottam Mishra on Sunday said that the party will win 125-150 seats in the state. "We will win 125-150 seats in the state. BJP will form govt in the state. It is a matter of a few hours now," he was quoted as saying by ANI.

Notably, there are a total of 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh.

Madhya Pradesh Election: As many as 2,533 candidates cast their votes for 230 assembly seats in the state. The total number of electorates in MP is 5,60,50,925, out of which 2,88,25,607 are males, 2,72,33,945 are females, and 1,373 are of the third gender, according to PTI.

The state that went to polls on November 17, saw a total voter turnout of 77.15 per cent.

Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections Result Live: Madhya Pradesh has a total of 230 assembly constituencies out of which Congress registered victory by bagging 114 seats, while BJP was the runner-up with 109 seats, during the 2018 assembly elections. However, the government led by Kamal Nath collapsed in 2020 after many MLAs who were close aides of Scindia resigned, and BJP took over the power. The saffron party is currently holding 127 seats.

Madhya Pradesh Result: Ahead of the counting of votes, BJP leader Arvind Singh Bhadoria exuded confidence in the party's victory and said that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan always stood in the interests of the public.

"With the blessings of the public, the BJP government is going to be formed in Madhya Pradesh under the leadership of Shivraj Singh. If there was anyone who stood in the interests of the public it was CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Congress makes hollow claims," he said.

MP ElectionThe preparations for the counting of votes in Madhya Pradesh is underway. Security forces have been deployed outside the counting centres. A video shared by ANI shows several police and election officials standing outside the counting centre in Bhopal. The counting will begin at 8 AM. 

Hours before the counting of votes in Madhya Pradesh, BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia exuded confidence that BJP will form the government with complete majority. 

"I have been saying this since day 1 that because of the development that has happened in Madhya Pradesh under the leadership of PM Modi and CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, we are completely sure that the people will bless the BJP and we will form a government with a complete majority,” Scindia was quoted as saying by ANI. 

Ahead of the counting of votes in Madhya Pradesh, Congress Leader Nakul Nath offered prayers at a Hanuman Temple in Chhindwara.

In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls, the Congress won 114 seats, and the BJP won 109 seats and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) won 2 seats. 

The Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly has a total of 230 seats. A party must get 116 seats out of the 230 seats to form government in the state.
