Telugu cinema's beloved superstar, Chiranjeevi, has sparked widespread disappointment among his fans with his recent remarks at the Brahma Anandam pre-release event. During the gathering, the iconic actor expressed his desire to have a grandson who could carry his legacy forward, revealing a deep-seated longing for a male heir to take the family’s legacy forward. Chiranjeevi's words have been met with criticism and dismay from various quarters, with many taking to social media to express their discontent.
‘It feels like I'm a ladies' hostel warden’: Chiranjeevi
He said during an event, "When I'm at home, it doesn't feel like I'm surrounded by my granddaughters; it feels like I'm a ladies' hostel warden, surrounded by ladies all around. I keep wishing and telling (Ram) Charan, at least this time, to have a boy so that our legacy continues, but his daughter is the apple of his eye... I'm scared that he might again have a girl.”
The video received several reactions from the netizens. A user commented, “Even after spending so many years of life, his thought over this subject is still small. I have seen small town people who see no difference b/w boy or girl. Unfortunately he is still in "legacy can be carried forward by Boy" mode.”
“A legacy can only be carried forward by a male child or men"He trusts men as his son Ram Charan married a girl of the parents choice and stuck with her.Meanwhile his daughter publicly humiliated him and he still forgave and brought her back,” another one reacted.
A person also wrote, “Sir on a lighter note he might say his feelings..we can't scrutinise everything they speak.Everyone has their own opinion, respect that. We can disagree but not expect another person to come in our line and make an apology/clarification whatever we don't like.”
In 2023, Chiranjeevi took to his Instagram handle and announced Klin Kaara’s birth. He wrote, “Klin Kaara Konidela. Taken from the Lalitha Sahasranamam .. the name ‘Klin Kaara’ .. signifies a transformative purifying energy that brings about a spiritual awakening! All of us are sure the little one, the Little Princess will imbibe these qualities into her personality .. as she grows up..”
