Kangana Ranaut, who captivated audiences with her performance in the political drama Emergency, has begun shooting for her next film. The actress shared a photo from the set of her upcoming movie with Tanu Weds Manu co-star R Madhavan. The duo is not collaborating for much-awaited Tanu Weds Manu 3 but for a psychological thriller, as announced by the Manikarnika actress in 2023.
On Monday, Kangana took to her Instagram story to give a sneak peek of her upcoming film's shooting. She posted a clapperboard from the untitled film along with a caption that read, "Nothing is more delightful than being on a film set."
The upcoming movie will be directed by Thalaivii filmmaker Vijay, who also directed Kangana in the lead role of that film and produced by R Ravindran of Trident Arts.
Last year, Kangana shared her excitement about working with director Vijay again on social media. Her post read, "Dear Vijay sir, after the incredible experience of Thalaivii, I am happy to be basking in your glory again. I love being part of your team and following your creative vision." In the same year, Kangana also shared a selfie with R Madhavan along with a caption that read, “Back with my fav @actormaddy for another stunning script." The duo has previously worked together in Tanu Weds Manu and Tanu Weds Manu Returns.
The announcement of the upcoming film was made in 2023. Kangana shared that the production of her next film had begun in Chennai. “Today in Chennai, we started filming our new film, a psychological thriller. Other details coming soon. For now, need all your support and blessings for this very unusual and exciting script," her post on X read.
Meanwhile, Kangana is garnering praise for her portrayal of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in Emergency, which was released on January 17. The film is receiving a positive response at the box office. In addition to Kangana, the film also stars Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry, Satish Kaushik, Shreyas Talpade and Milind Soman in pivotal roles.
