Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, GOLDMEDALIST, has filed a criminal lawsuit against Kim Sae Ron’s family and Kim Se Eui from the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute. The lawsuit follows the release of a compromising photo showing the actor with his pants down, which was allegedly shared without his consent, leading to claims of sexual humiliation.

According to a report by Korean media outlet Newsen, the agency took action on March 20, 2025, after Kim Sae Ron’s family and Garosero reportedly threatened to release more private content. GOLDMEDALIST confirmed the man in the photo is Kim Soo Hyun and stated it was taken during his consensual relationship with Kim Sae Ron when she was legally an adult.

The agency pressed charges under the 'Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes,' specifically targeting the unauthorized distribution of footage. They emphasized that sharing such content without consent is a serious crime, particularly when it causes sexual humiliation.

Contradicting previous statements from GOLDMEDALIST, the photo is alleged to have been taken at Kim Sae Ron’s apartment — a claim the agency had initially denied. Despite this, the agency dismissed allegations that Kim Soo Hyun dated Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor, calling such rumours false but choosing not to pursue legal action out of respect for her untimely passing.

In their statement, GOLDMEDALIST vowed to protect Kim Soo Hyun’s honour and prevent any further spread of private content. They expressed hope that such violations would not happen again.

The controversy has also affected Kim Soo Hyun’s professional commitments. MBC’s variety show ‘Good Day,’ produced by Kpop icon G-Dragon, announced a schedule change. Episode 6, originally set for March 23, 2025, has been delayed by a week, with a special episode of ‘I Live Alone’ airing instead.

The production team acknowledged the seriousness of the situation, explaining that they edited out most of Kim Soo Hyun’s footage from the show. His individual segment, recorded on March 13, was entirely removed. Episode 5 had already been shortened by 10 minutes due to similar edits.

‘Good Day’ is known for showcasing G-Dragon’s journey of creating a song alongside various Korean entertainment figures. The team assured viewers they are prioritizing public sentiment while reorganizing the show’s content.
