According to viewers, Mrunal Thakur does a solid job. But the writing is patchy, and the mystery is too easy to guess. That keeps the film from being the sharp drama it could've been.

What Works In The Long-Delayed Movie?

Two things work in the courtroom drama. First, the performances, especially Mrunal Thakur.

Second, Pooja Meri Jaan actually questions how society tends to blame women in crime cases, often without hearing their side at all. It also touches on choice, the right to decide for yourself, and how people deal with rejection.

What Doesn't Work?

The premise is strong, and the film does try to deliver on it. But somewhere along the way, the impact fades. The message is good, but it doesn't stick with you once the credits roll, mostly because the execution lets it down.

Pooja and Vikram's relationship, and their backstory, needed more time on screen. Without that, it's hard to actually care about them or feel invested in how their story ends.

A few overly dramatic scenes don't help either. The film starts off like a mystery thriller, but by the end, the romantic angle becomes way too predictable.

What Is Pooja Meri Jaan About?

Aniket, a theatre actor and social worker played by Vikram Singh Chauhan, is in love with his co-actor Pooja, played by Mrunal Thakur. When she rejects him, Aniket takes his own life. That single act sparks a bigger debate, and it becomes the heart of the film. Pooja is blamed for his death and ends up fighting a legal battle.

Sana, a corporate lawyer and friend of both Pooja and Aniket, played by Huma Qureshi, steps in to defend Pooja in court. On the other side is Jatin, played by Vijay Raaz, a divorcee who's determined to prove that the law often sides with women while men end up paying the price.
