Udta Teer Twitter Review
Viewers who watched the early shows have shared their reactions on X. One user said the film has a twisty story that stays funny from start to end. They added that they had seen patriotic films before, but never one like this.
Another viewer called it a must-watch for the whole family. According to them, the comedy of errors worked well, and the film made everyone laugh without even trying.
A third user called it a laugh riot and one of the funniest Bollywood films in recent times.
What Works In Ayushmann Khurrana-Sara Ali Khan's Movie?
The film's strength is that it tries something playful without looking desperate to impress. Most of the humour comes from the situations and from how the characters react to them, and not from a nonstop run of punchlines.
Ayushmann handles the action well. He moves easily between fight scenes and comic confusion, and his performance holds the story together.
The late Mukul Dev gets the most enjoyable role, as the terrorist kingpin Azhar Maqsood. His expressive face, body language and instinct for comic exaggeration make him a scene-stealer.
Rahul Bose is also very good, with a surprisingly funny touch that suits the film's heightened comic world.

What Doesn't Work?
The first half moves well, but the second half loses some pace. The script keeps going back to Bilal's memory loss and his shifting sense of identity.
The film makes fun of serious subjects, so a stronger emotional base might have made the comedy work even better.
Sara Ali Khan works within the defence establishment, but she gets little room to grow into a stronger presence.

About Udta Teer
Udta Teer follows Bilal, a Pakistani officer who enters India on a secret task but loses his memory in an accident. When he wakes up, all that is left is his fierce patriotism, and he wrongly believes he is a staunch officer on the other side.
Things get messy when clueless Indian agencies recruit him. He turns against his original handlers and, without knowing it, becomes his own country's worst nightmare.
Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment produce the film. The cast also includes Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Suhail Nayyar, Gulshan Grover, Raghubir Yadav and Supriya Pilgaonkar.
Nepal denied the film permission for public screening.
FAQ
1. How does Udta Teer differ from traditional Bollywood spy thrillers?
Unlike intense action-heavy franchises like the YRF Spy Universe, which rely on high-stakes drama and relentless action, Udta Teer subverts the genre by treating espionage through satirical comedy, mistaken patriotism, and situational humor.
2. How did recent blockbuster thrillers like Dhurandhar impact the box office landscape for spy films?
High-octane blockbusters like Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar reset commercial benchmarks by driving massive footfalls for serious, large-scale action-espionage spectacles. In contrast, a mid-budget comedy like Udta Teer provides a family-friendly, humor-driven alternative within the same broader spy theme.
