Released in 2012, Cocktail is a beloved romantic comedy-drama that explores a complex love triangle. The story follows Gautam (Saif Ali Khan), Veronica (Deepika Padukone) and Meera (Diana Panty), three individuals living together in London whose lives get messy when romantic feelings develop. Problems start when Gautam's traditional mother arrives in the UK. Because she dislikes Veronica's wild lifestyle, Gautam lies and pretends that the traditional Meera is his girlfriend.
During this act, Gautam and Meera genuinely fall in love. However, Meera steps back to avoid hurting her best friend Veronica, who has also fallen for Gautam. After a series of heartbreaks and emotional misunderstandings, Veronica selflessly realises that Gautam truly belongs with Meera. In the end, Gautam and Veronica travel to India, where she helps him propose to Meera, restoring both the romance and their deep friendship.
