Panchayat makers, TVF's Deepak Kumar Mishra and Arunabh Kumar, created Gram Chikitsalay, which is currently streaming on Prime Video. The rural comedy-drama is a five episodes short series, which may have taken place in a fictional village (Bhatkandi) where a 'jhola chaap' doctor is more revered than a doctor with a degree, but the struggles it depicts are very much real.
Gram Chikitsalay stars Amol Parashar as Dr Prabhat and Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, who portrayed Dr Gargi. They won over the audience's affections with their believable portrayal of doctors in Bhatkandi.

Akansha Ranjan Kapoor said, "I think we are not shying away from it. When you're compared to a giant, you're almost flattered. It's not like we've stolen. Our writer, showrunner is the director of Panchayat so not like he's stolen from someone else. It's his own vision, his own world, his work. Panchayat is his world and this is like an extension of his world and imagination (sic)."
She added, "I don't think there's a problem in that, he doesn't find a problem. He is very happy that there are comparison. We're like the little sister of Panchayat. Hopefully we win as many hearts as Panchayat did (sic)."
Akansha Ranjan Kapoor's depiction of a rural doctor has resonated with audiences because of its realistic and nuanced emotions. People who had witnessed her previous work in Monica, O My Darling, were especially skeptical at first, but her dedication and transformation impressed many.
