The series titled Brown marks Karisma Kapoor's return to OTT after nearly two years. The actress, who has often portrayed romantic and glamorous roles, played a character a dark character in the crime thriller. Many people have appreciated the actress for her work in this series.

Brown, which takes place in Kolkata, is produced by Zee Studios and directed by Abhinay Deo. The performer, who has starred in hits like Andaz Apna Apna, Raja Hindustani, Dil To Pagal Hai, Biwi No. 1, Hero No. 1, Fiza, and Zubeida, claimed that the role was unlike anything she has ever performed in her three-decade career. It stars Jisshu Sengupta, Arjun Sinha, and Soni Razdan in pivotal roles, in addition to Salman Khan's stepmother Helen.

Brown has become the year's top-rated psychological crime thriller, with a 9.3 rating on IMDb.

Karisma Kapoor On Doing Brown

Karisma Kapoor said she was apprehensive about accepting Brown since she didn't want to commit to a project that required a lengthy timeline, while speaking with PTI. "I was like, 'Maybe I don’t want to go and spend 50-60 days in another city'. It’s a long form, a series with six, seven or eight episodes. But after I met Abhinay, and we went through the script, and I heard Rita Brown’s character, of course I couldn’t say no," she said.

According to Karisma Kapoor, Rita was more than just a 'regular cop with a backstory', which piqued her interest.

Karisma Kapoor shared, "She's literally a broken woman trying to survive. She literally leaves her job to take care of herself or just be on her own. She's pulled back into this murder that happens in her city, and she can’t cope. She’s a real human character, a woman who's struggling, but at the same time you’ll see her growth during the journey of Brown."
