CM Vijay's Jana Nayagan has been on hold for a long time, but it seems like it might release anytime in July. According to a report by NDTV, Jana Nayagan will release in July and is likely to receive its censor certificate this weekend.
In May, the Revising Committee of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had cleared the film, seemingly paving the way for its theatrical release.
However, a fresh update suggests the certification process has taken another turn.
Although the film had completed its initial censor review in December 2025, the Examining Committee had recommended a few cuts, which the makers claimed were implemented. The film was then slated to release on January 9, 2026.

The process was delayed after a member of the Examining Committee reportedly raised objections to certain scenes in a letter to CBFC chairperson Prasoon Joshi. Following the complaint, the CBFC referred the film to the Revising Committee for a fresh review, leading to further delays in its certification.
