Dhurandhar 2: As excitement continues to grow around Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the upcoming sequel to the blockbuster Dhurandhar, the film has landed in legal trouble ahead of its teaser release. Mumbai Police have registered a case against a crew member of Dhurandhar 2 for allegedly flying a drone without official permission in a high-security area of South Mumbai. The incident took place in the historic Fort area, which is considered a sensitive zone where drone operations require prior clearance from authorities.
What Is The Allegation Against Dhurandhar 2 Team?
According to police officials, the complaint states that a drone was flown without mandatory approval during the film’s shooting schedule. The FIR was registered on February 1 at the MRA Marg Police Station against the film’s location manager, Rinku Rajpal Valmiki. The accused has been booked under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with “wilful disobedience of lawful orders issued by public authorities.” Police said the rules governing drone usage were violated despite clear instructions and regulations in place for the area. Authorities noted that drone usage is strictly controlled in the Fort precinct due to its high-security status, and any filming involving aerial equipment requires prior permission.
Police sources revealed that the alleged violation occurred on February 1, which marked the third day of filming at the Fort location. The entire cast and crew were present at the time, including actor Sanjay Dutt, who features prominently in Dhurandhar 2. According to the FIR, the drone was used to capture a particular scene, but no official clearance had been obtained from the relevant authorities. The police intervened after learning about the unauthorised drone activity and subsequently registered the case.
It was also reported that the Fort area had been specially transformed for the shoot. Since January 30, the location had been dressed to resemble an old, crowded street in Pakistan, aligning with the film’s storyline. While the visual transformation was permitted, the unauthorised drone use reportedly triggered concern among officials, leading to police action. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
Meanwhile, the legal development comes on the same day the teaser of Dhurandhar: The Revenge is set to be released at 12:12 PM. Ahead of the teaser launch, a striking new poster was unveiled, offering a glimpse into the darker tone of the sequel. Dhurandhar 2, titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge, is the second chapter of the planned two-part series and is slated for release on March 19, 2026.
