Dhurandhar Box Office Collection Japan: Dhurandhar franchise has earned over Rs 3,100 crore worldwide, making it one of Indian cinema’s biggest commercial successes. However, the spy thriller has struggled to attract audiences in Japan. Released there on July 10, the Ranveer Singh-starrer failed to deliver a strong opening.
Dhurandhar failed to gain momentum at the box office despite a strong promotional campaign ahead of its Japan release.
Dhurandhar opened across nearly 80 screens in Japan but could not enter the country’s top 25 films on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, according to trade reports. The movie recorded 449 admissions across 57 locations by 2 PM on its opening day, and collections remained subdued thereafter.
Indian Movies At The Japan Box Office
Japan has delivered mixed results for Indian films over the years - RRR continues to hold the benchmark with 8,230 opening-day footfalls. It is followed by Saaho (6,510) and Kalki 2898 AD (3,700). Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (1,960), Pathaan (2,220), and Prabhas-starrer Salaar (2,200) also registered four-figure opening-day footfall.
Dhurandhar's opening in Japan was closer to Pushpa 2, which also had a muted start in the country earlier this year. Despite strong pre-release buzz, the Allu Arjun-starrer could not break into Japan’s top 10 during its opening phase.

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, which concludes Aditya Dhar's critically acclaimed duology, is an intense espionage thriller with an epic 229-minute length. To systematically kill the masterminds behind the 26/11 attacks, Ranveer Singh's character, a deep-cover Indian spy Jaskirat Singh Rangi, goes off the grid as Hamza Ali Mazari to penetrate Karachi's most deadly socio-political networks.
Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Gaurav Gera, Danish Pandor, and others make up the ensemble cast of the franchise. Aditya Dhar is the director and writer of the Dhurandhar movies.
Despite a steep first-day drop, Dhurandhar can still succeed in Japan through positive word-of-mouth. The spy action thriller now relies on opening weekend attendance to gain momentum and turn its box office fortunes around.
