Mohanlal Drishyam 3 Box Office: The highly anticipated Malayalam thriller Drishyam 3, starring legendary actor Mohanlal, has completed its second day in theatres. The third instalment of the incredibly popular franchise was released globally on May 21 to celebrate Mohanlal's birthday. After securing a very powerful opening day at the box office, the film saw a small drop in its daily earnings on Friday.

According to Sacnilk, Drishyam 3 collected Rs 10.85 crore net across India on Friday. This represents a drop of just over 30 per cent compared to its opening day collection, which stood at Rs 15.85 crore. This brings the domestic total for the film to an impressive Rs 26.70 crore. The producers, Aashirvad Cinemas, have shared even higher figures, claiming that the film achieved a massive opening of Rs 50.35 crore worldwide on its first day alone.
While the film experienced a slight slowdown inside India, it has performed exceptionally well in international markets. Out of its total worldwide gross of Rs 75.94 crore over two days, a staggering Rs 45 crore came directly from overseas audiences. Amazingly, the thriller actually made more money abroad on its second day than it did domestically, pulling in Rs 20 crore from international cinemas on Friday.
The movie is now rapidly closing in on the Rs 100 crore benchmark globally. Apart from its native Malayalam language, Drishyam 3 is performing much better in Telugu speaking regions than in Tamil and Kannada markets.

Written and directed by Jeethu Joseph, the thriller continues the gripping story right where Drishyam 2 left off. The plot sees Mohanlal return to his iconic role as Georgekutty, who is now working as a film producer. The star-studded cast also features Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Murali Gopy, Siddique, and Asha Sarath reprising their original roles.
