The Supreme Court criticised Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav for allegedly using snake venom at a rave party. The court noted that the YouTuber sent a 'bad message' to society by using voiceless victims. This came as the court heard his plea against the complaint under the Wildlife (Protection) Act filed on him.
According to PTI, the bench questioned Elvish's lawyer, "If popular persons are allowed to use voiceless victims like snakes, it could send a very bad message to the society. You take the snake and play around. Did you deal with the snake or not?" "Can you go to the zoo and play with animals there? Will it not be an offence? You can't say that you'll do whatever you want. We are concerned with the complaint under the Wildlife (Protection) Act," the bench further asked.
Senior advocate Mukta Gupta, appearing for Elvish Yadav, informed the court that the YouTuber had attended the event merely as a guest while participating in a video shoot for singer Fazilpuria, and was not involved in organising or hosting any party. She further argued that there was no concrete evidence to establish the occurrence of a rave party or the consumption of any scheduled psychotropic substances at the alleged venue.
It was also submitted that Elvish was not present at the location where the incident reportedly took place and that medical examination reports confirmed that none of the nine recovered snakes were poisonous.

On the other hand, the opposing counsel told the court that the police had rescued nine snakes, including five cobras, from the spot and had also recovered suspected snake venom, which they alleged was used during rave parties. The matter has now been listed for further hearing on March 19.
