Actor Vindu Dara Singh has recently revealed the reason for the fallout in his first marriage with actress Farah Naaz, sister of Tabu. He said her religious beliefs changed, which eventually led to their separation. The actor also recalled how his late father, Dara Singh, cautioned him about entering into an interfaith marriage.
Vindu Dara Singh Recalled Farah Naaz’s Hajj Pilgrimage And The Change In Beliefs
During the podcast, Vindu Dara Singh was questioned about his first marriage with Tabu’s sister Farah Naaz and what led to their separation. The actor replied by saying that Farah changed and that her religious beliefs had undergone a significant shift after coming back from Hajj.
“Hajj ke baad change ho gayi, tabhi hi log kehte hain Hindu-Muslim ki shaadi nahi honi chahiye. Hajj se aane ke baad unhone maan liya tha ki mujhe Islam dharam ko manna hai, Hindu dharam ko nahi,” he said.
Vindu Singh then revealed that the cultural difference was not a problem when they met for the first time. However, things changed, which led to disagreements.
"Dharam wala koi system tha nahi humara. Lekin woh jab jake aayi, change ho gayi, friction aa gaya," he added.
Vindu also explained that Farah agreed to quit smoking if he arranged her Hajj pilgrimage. Vindu said Farah had told him, "You send me for Hajj, then I will quit smoking." He agreed to arrange the trip, but things did not turn out the way he expected.
"When she came back from Hajj, she was a completely different woman. Everything about her was changed. That's when I remembered whatever Dad said to me. From there, things started to go downhill," he recalled.

Dara Singh Warned Vindu Before Marrying An Inter-Religion Woman
In a March 2024 podcast with Siddharth Kannan, Vindu remembered that his father, wrestling legend and actor Dara Singh, had reservations about his decision to marry Farah because of the cultural differences.
Vindu recalled Dara Singh telling him, "Love tak to thik hai, par shaadi jab hoti hai… when it's different religions, Hindu and Muslim, jab shaadi hoti hai it's a little hard."
But Vindu convinced his father and family that they truly love each other and their strong relationship would overcome any differences.
Looking back at how things turned out, Vindu acknowledged that his father’s concerns were relevant. He explained that when one partner becomes more religious over time, the expectations and dynamics within a marriage can change.
He reiterated this position in a June 2026 conversation with Kadak, saying, "Absolutely. Religion was completely normal between us. But suddenly she became very religious. We never had that highly religious system between us. So when you suddenly become very religious, complications happen. That is, according to me, the main reason."
