Dhurandhar 2 On OTT: Fans of Ranveer Singh’s latest blockbuster, Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge, will have to wait a little longer to watch the film from the comfort of their homes. Although the movie has been a massive hit in cinemas since its release in March, the streaming giant JioHotstar has reportedly decided to push back its digital release. The platform is reportedly holding off the release until late May or early June, waiting for the IPL 2026 season to conclude.

The decision to delay the streaming launch is a strategic move by the platform to ensure they capture the largest possible audience once the cricket fever is over. JioHotstar has reportedly invested heavily in the film, having purchased the digital streaming rights for a staggering Rs 120-150 crore.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film sees Ranveer Singh return as an undercover agent. The movie also stars a powerful supporting cast including Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R. Madhavan.

According to a report in Sacnilk, Dhurandhar The Revenge experienced a small dip in earnings on its 21st day. The Ranveer Singh starrer earned Rs 7.90 crore on Wednesday. Despite this slight weekday slowdown, the movie's financial achievements remain historic. The total net collection in India now stands at Rs 1041.27 crore. Furthermore, the film’s total gross collection in India has reached Rs 1246.67 crore.

Dhurandhar 2 Rang De Lal (Oye Oye Song) Controversy

Dhurandhar 2 is currently embroiled in a legal battle with Trimurti Films over a song from the 1989 classic Tridev. The original song makers allege that a similar version was used in the new film without proper authorisation or licensing. Claiming full ownership of the musical composition and sound recording, Trimurti Films argues that this unauthorised duplication and public distribution constitutes a serious case of copyright infringement. The court's decision could significantly impact the film's continued theatrical run and future streaming plans.
