The protests have entered another week, with aspirants demanding a fair investigation and justice.

Sonakshi Sinha Voices Support For Jharkhand Student

Sonakshi Sinha took to her Instagram story to show support for the protesting students. She posted a reel focusing on the student protest in Jharkhand and expressed her worries regarding the hardships faced by the young people aspiring to get jobs.

In her response to the incident, she said, "It's so disheartening to see students of our country face this… when will it stop???" Her post has focused on the demands of the students, as they are feeling that their future is affected due to the recruiting process.

Why Are Jharkhand's Students Protesting?

Since July 29, the protest has been ongoing at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi, where the students are sitting on an indefinite sit-in. They are alleging the JMM government at the state level is trying to deal with the issue through CID inquiry only, stating that they do not trust this procedure anymore.

There is a call among many protesters to get into an independent inquiry of the recruitment scam conducted by the central agencies such as CBI and ED.

Main Demands Of The Aspirants

The students are seeking the cancellation of the 14th JPSC Combined Preliminary Test held on April 19. They have also sought a detailed probe into the alleged irregularities in the recruitment examinations conducted by JPSC and JSSC.

Other than the probe, the aspirants have asked to include the fifth option of “not attempted” in the OMR answer sheets. Protesters say these are necessary to ensure the fairness and transparency of the examination system.

Protest May Intensify

According to the student organisations, thousands of careers have been affected by the process, and many of the candidates belong to farming families who hope to see a brighter future for themselves in government jobs.

These students recently held a protest march in which they went to Albert Ekka Chowk and shouted slogans against the state government. The students have warned that if their demands are not met, then they will hold a gherao outside the Jharkhand Assembly in the coming days.
