After months of uncertainity, Thalapathy Vijay's much-anticipated movie Jana Nayagan is all set for its release. It is definitely a big relief for Vijay as well as his fans who have been awaiting its release since January.
Jana Nayagan receieves A certificate and release date
Suprith Mohan, business head and producer at KVN Productions, said in a conversation with SCREEN that CBFC has issued an ‘A’ certificate for Jana Nayagan. He further confirmed the release date, stating, "We‘ll be releasing the movie worldwide on July 24."
Jana Nayagan was slated to release on January 9, 2026. The process was delayed after a member of the Examining Committee reportedly raised objections to certain scenes in a letter to CBFC chairperson Prasoon Joshi.
Following the complaint, the CBFC referred the film to the Revising Committee for a fresh review, leading to further delays in its certification.

Not only this, the entire movie was leaked online in April 2026 and widely pirated and distributed illegally. As a result, producers sought legal action against social media accounts that shared clips or links to the film.
About the movie: Jana Nayagan is directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions. The film stars Vijay in the lead role, alongside Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani and Narain in key roles.
