Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Thi 2 is reportedly going off the air with its finale on October 20, 2026. In place of the family drama, Star Plus’s upcoming supernatural fantasy, Apsara, is set to take its 10:30 PM slot from October 21.
The development comes about 15 months after Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Thi 2 aired on July 29, 2025. The second instalment brought back Smriti Irani as Tulsi and Amar Upadhyay as Mihir Virani. The original season ended nearly two decades earlier.
However, the storyline of the show is still ongoing, with several major developments. Recent episodes have focused on Mihir’s return to Mumbai, his lost memories and Mandira’s efforts to keep his past hidden.

Apsara To Replace Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2
The show stepping in place of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is Apsara. It is a supernatural fantasy series produced by Mukta Dhond.
Star Plus unveiled Apsara’s first look earlier this month. The show stars Samiksha Jaiswal and Paras Kalnawat in the lead, with Adaa Khan, Avika Gor, Anushka Merchande, Mona Vasu and Poorva as the supporting cast.
Apsara is set to premiere on October 21, 2026, at 10:30 PM on Star Plus and JioHotstar.
The series draws inspiration from Indian mythology of Samudra Manthan and the Amrit. Samiksha plays Sunehri, an Apsara entrusted with protecting the Amrit from evil forces.
Speaking about the role, Samiksha publicly said that she loved how her character manages to balance between her responsibility as a guardian of the Amrit and her affection towards her loved ones.
She added that Sunehri is not someone waiting for a knight in shining armour, as she is her own hero.
Expressing her excitement, she said, “There is something exciting about playing an Apsara whose story goes beyond her beauty. I play Sunehri, who has the extraordinary responsibility of protecting the Amrit from evil forces. At the same time, she has people she loves and wants to keep safe.”
