Using a special power granted right before the finale, Shreya Kalra nominated the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actress for elimination. Shreya explained that Shivangi failed to take a firm stand during crucial moments in the house.
Explaining her decision, Shreya stated, "Main koi nahi hoti hu kisi ko terminate karni wali. Har koi jeeta chah raha hai. Jitna main logo ki journey dekhi hai, bahut logo ko mauke mile ki vo sahi ka saath de, cheeze bole. At this moment, I think Shivangi Josi doesn't deserve to be a part of the finale,"
She further addressed host Riteish Deshmukh about past grievances, saying, "When Shivangi was the gang leader, she removed me from the team. She said that I didn't deserve to be a part of the team. I am returning the favour. I won't change my decision. When I was bullied, she didn't stop the bullies. She made me feel like a bad person. Everytime I cried, she fought with me and made it about herself,"

Just when it appeared Shivangi Joshi's journey on the show was over, the producers introduced a surprise twist. Harshad Chopda, who had previously emerged as the first finalist of the season, voiced his strong displeasure over Shreya's decision and called it unfair.
When host Riteish Deshmukh asked Harshad if he would give up his spot for Shivangi, the actor willingly decided to get eliminated instead. As a result of this swap, Shivangi Joshi remains in the running for the trophy, whilst Harshad Chopda has been evicted just days before the grand finale.
