Santhosh K Nair Death News: The Malayalam film industry is in mourning following the tragic death of veteran actor Santhosh Nair. The actor passed away after being involved in a serious road accident at Enathu, located in the Pathanamthitta district.

The accident occurred when the car Santhosh Nair was travelling in collided head-on with a large lorry. His wife, Shubhashree, was also in the vehicle at the time and sustained several injuries in the crash. According to reports in Manorama Online, the driver of the lorry was also injured.

While Santhosh Nair was being treated for his injuries at the hospital, he suffered a sudden heart attack. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, he could not be saved.

Who Was Santhosh K Nair?

Santhosh Nair enjoyed a long and successful career in Malayalam cinema that lasted for more than 40 years. He first appeared on the big screen in 1982 in the film Ithu Njangalude Katha. Over the decades, he worked in more than 100 films.

Born on November 12, 1960, in Thiruvananthapuram, Santhosh Nair was son of a retired headmaster, additionally his mother was also a retired teacher. Because his parents worked abroad in Ethiopia for several years, he was primarily raised by his maternal grandparents in Pettah. He attended St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School and later studied mathematics at Mahatma Gandhi College.

Santhosh Nair’s final film, Mohiniyattam (also known as Bharathanatyam 2), is currently showing in cinemas. Directed by Krishnadas Murali, the film also features Saiju Kurup and Suraj Venjaramoodu. Fans who wish to see his final performance can also watch the film when it arrives on Netflix on May 8.
