Playback singer Sunidhi Chauhan has opened up about why she decided to stop judging singing reality shows despite being a part of them for many years. In a recent interview, the singer shared that she no longer felt connected to the changing format of these shows. She also spoke about the growing use of technology in music, her views on authenticity, and the love and respect she has received from audiences throughout her career.
Sunidhi Chauhan Explains Why She Left Reality Shows
On a recent episode of Shekhar Tonight, Sunidhi Chauhan confessed that she deliberately chose to avoid being a part of such shows after years of judging them. She said, "I was part of it for a very long time. But then I left because I felt it was no longer my place."
According to the singer, she no longer connected with the direction in which these reality shows were heading.
Sunidhi Raises Concerns Over Changing Trends
Sunidhi expressed her opinion and concerns regarding the growing popularity of Auto-Tune and Melodyne in the music industry as well. While she believes these tools can be useful in songs for creating special effects, she feels they should not have a place in singing reality competitions.
She said, "It is very sad. Earlier, Auto-Tune or Melodyne was used in songs to create a particular effect. But you cannot do that in a reality show, where everything should be completely real and honest. I realised it was going somewhere I could not be a part of."
Singer Says She Has Always Received Respect
Besides talking about these topics during the conversation, the host Shekhar also discussed issues that the singers face during their live shows. Shekhar, referring to incidents involving late singers KK and Sonu Nigam, asked Sunidhi if she had ever faced any disrespectful behaviour or awkward moments while singing live on stage.
Responding to the question, Sunidhi said, "I am very fortunate because nothing like that has happened to me till today. People have always given me a lot of love... not just love, but respect as well."
