Marvel Studios has unveiled the first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, which is set to release in theatres on December 18. It introduced Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom and showed the Avengers, New Avengers, X-Men and Fantastic Four coming together to face what appeared to be their biggest multiverse threat yet.
As the Avengers: Doomsday trailer unfolded, Thor warned Earth's mightiest heroes about the danger posed by Doctor Doom. It hinted at a massive battle, with several Marvel teams joining forces in the hope of stopping the powerful villain.
However, one major hero is missing from the trailer - Spider-Man. Tom Holland is not part of the officially announced cast of Avengers: Doomsday, and the trailer does not confirm whether Peter Parker will appear in the Marvel movie.
No Spider-Man In Avengers: Doomsday?
One possible reason could be the shooting schedules. According to Bam Smack Pow, Avengers: Doomsday and Spider-Man: Brand New Day were filmed around the same time. The movie reportedly shot between April and September 2025, while Spider-Man: Brand New Day was also in production during that period.
Because Tom Holland plays the lead in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it may have been difficult for him to take on a major role in both projects at the same time. However, Marvel has not officially commented on Spider-Man’s absence from Avengers: Doomsday.
For now, Tom Holland's next confirmed appearance as Peter Parker is in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is scheduled to release in Indian theatres on July 30, ahead of Avengers: Doomsday.
