According to Ranbir, shooting for Animal Park is expected to begin only in 2027.

In a recent interaction with Deadline Hollywood, Ranbir Kapoor opened up about the timeline of Animal Park and explained why the sequel has not yet gone into production. Addressing the delay, the actor said, “The director is right now making another film. We should start that film in 2027. It’s a bit away.” Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who helmed Animal, is currently committed to another project, which has pushed the sequel further down the schedule. Despite the long wait, Ranbir assured fans that discussions around the sequel have been ongoing since the first film.

During the interview, Ranbir Kapoor was also asked whether the script for Animal Park is ready. While confirming that the script is still evolving, he revealed an exciting detail about the director’s vision. Ranbir shared, “He (Reddy Vanga) just kind of flirted with what he really wants to do with the movie. He wants to make it in three parts. The second part is called Animal Park.” One of the biggest highlights of Animal Park is that Ranbir Kapoor will be seen playing two characters. Speaking about this unique aspect, the actor said, “We have been sharing ideas from the first film itself. How he wants to take the story forward. It’s very exciting because now I get to play two characters, the antagonist and the protagonist. So extremely exciting project and an extremely original director, and I’m very excited to be a part of it.”
