Arijit Singh recently broke his fans' hearts after he announced his retirement as a playback singer. What caught netizens’ attention was the irony surrounding his last song Matrubhumi’s release from Salman Khan’s upcoming movie Battle of Galwan. Netizens quickly connected the dots, recalling how Salman was accused of ruining Arijit’s career and now, the singer’s last released song before his retirement is picturised on him.
The feud between Salman Khan and Arijit Singh began at an awards event in 2014. The singer had just shot to fame and was receiving immense love for his song Tum Hi Ho in the movie Aashiqui 2. As he arrived on the stage to receive his award, the singer looked visibly tired and was dressed casually for the awards night. Salman Khan, the host of the award night, in his unhinged humour asked, “So gaye the?”. Arijit, taken by surprise, simply smiled and replied, “Aap logon ne sula diya yaar.”
