Samay Raina's Still Alive Show: Popular stand-up comedian Samay Raina has sparked a fresh conversation on social media after sharing behind-the-scenes secrets from his appearance on the legendary game show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). In 2025, India's Got Latent host Samay appeared on KBC Season 16 alongside fellow creators Tanmay Bhat and Bhuvan Bam. During his recent live show titled 'Still Alive', Samay Raina confessed to tailoring his personality for television and holding back some of his most controversial jokes while sitting across from Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan.
Samay Raina, in KBC's episode shared that his grandmother was a massive fan of AMitabh Bachchan. However, now in his new show he revealed that this was entirely fabricated for television audience. "Dadi mar gayi hai meri. 7 saal ho gaye hain mere dadi ko mar ke," he stated. He explained his decision by saying, "Waha maine kiya – Sir dadi meri aapki bhot badi fan hai," adding that he only said it to "play the room."
Samay Raina spoke candidly about the pressure of maintaining a clean image on national TV. He shared, "Main samajhta tha, KBC mein jab ja raha tha, ki main har jagah harami banta hoon, yaha clean banunga na to log bolenge what a versatile creator." Samay further revealed that his mind was filled with 'ulta seedha' thoughts.
Samay Raina shared one particularly harsh roast directed at Amitabh Bachchan’s son, Abhishek Bachchan. He mocked him by saying, "Sir, aapne itna polio ka ad kiya, phir bhi apne bete ko paon pe kyu nahi khada kar paye sir." This comment referenced Amitabh Bachchan’s famous pulse polio campaign while taking a dig at his son’s career.

Samay Raina further opened up about the controversy surrounding his show India’s Got Latent, involving Ranveer Allahbadia (Beer Biceps). After a question on the show was deemed obscene by viewers, leading to legal complaints, Samay clarified the editing process. He claimed that Ranveer Allahbadia actually asked the inappropriate question eight times. "Main tumhe maa ki kasam sach batata hoon. Uss episode main Beer Biceps ne voh sawal 8 baar poocha tha," Samay said. He joked that by keeping only one instance in the final edit, he felt he had already killed "99 per cent kitaanu (germs)."
Samay Raina concluded that creators in India often cannot be fully honest on the internet, stating, "You are not honest on the Indian internet. You can not be yourself. You play the game, you play the room." His revelations have since gone viral.
