Udta Teer Trailer Out: Ayushmann Khurrana is back with a new avatar in Udta Teer, an action comedy that mixes espionage, mistaken identity and humour. Co-starring Sara Ali Khan, the Bollywood movie follows a Pakistani spy whose life takes an unexpected turn after he loses his memory.

Here are five key details from the trailer that make this film different from Ayushmann’s usual social dramas.

1. Ayushmann Khurrana Plays A Pakistani Spy With Amnesia

The biggest reveal is Ayushmann’s character, Bilal, a Pakistani intelligence operative who loses his memory after an explosion. He wakes up believing he is an Indian Counter-Terrorism Squad officer. This identity mix-up drives the story and creates room for both action and comedy.

2. Sara Ali Khan Joins The Mission

Sara Ali Khan plays Yamini, a fellow counter-terrorism officer who is unaware of Bilal’s real identity. Their professional connection places her at the centre of the confusion. The trailer suggests that their interactions will be an important part of the film’s comic moments.

3. The Film Mixes Spy Action With Comedy

From explosions to fight sequences, Udta Teer has several elements of a spy thriller. However, the memory-loss angle turns the familiar genre into a comedy of errors. The film appears to balance high-stakes situations with jokes and unexpected twists.

4. It Marks Akash A Kaushik’s Directorial Debut

Written and directed by Akash A Kaushik, Udta Teer marks his first feature film as a director. The ensemble cast includes Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Gulshan Grover, Suhail Nayyar, Raghubir Yadav and the late Mukul Dev. The film is backed by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment.

5. It Shows A Different Side Of Ayushmann

Ayushmann is known for films such as Article 15, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and Dream Girl, which explore social issues or use humour to examine everyday life. Udta Teer leans more towards spy-action comedy, giving him a chance to play a character caught in an unusual international mission.

Verdict: Can Udta Teer Deliver A Fresh Spy Comedy?

The trailer promises a mix of action, mistaken identity and broad comedy. Rather than a conventional spy thriller, the film appears to use Bilal’s memory loss to turn the genre on its head. The real test will be how well the full film balances its action and humour.

Udta Teer is scheduled to release in cinemas on October 23, 2026, following a change to its release date.
