Pranit More Biryani Controversy: Stand-up comedian and Bigg Boss 19 contestant Pranit More has released a fresh, secondary video apology regarding the ongoing Rs 370 biryani controversy. The development comes after intense public backlash multiplied over a newly surfaced, longer video clip from his live crowd-work show in Gurugram, Haryana. More described his passive response during the performance as a total lapse in judgement.
What Is Pranit More's Rs 370 Biryani Controversy?
The controversy originally erupted over an interaction with an audience member, Himanshu Jangra, who joked that spending Rs 370 on a chicken biryani bill during a date legally entitled him to physical intimacy. However, the situation escalated into a national debate on consent after the full, unedited video emerged online. The extended footage showed Himanshu Jangra going into graphic detail about physically grabbing his date while Pranit More continued to laugh and the live audience cheered, making the comedian's initial apologies appear highly inadequate.
Comedian Pranit More Issues Fresh Apology In Viral Video
After his main account was temporarily suspended due to the heavy volume of complaints, Pranit More posted a video statement addressing the graphic footage directly. Translating his Hindi statement into English, "Hello, so the thing is that I wanted to say this for a long time, but my Instagram got suspended. You all might have seen my crowd work, because of which I am receiving a lot of hate. And I feel that I probably deserve this hate."
Pranit More further added, "Because when I was doing crowd work with that guy, he made some derogatory remarks and everyone was laughing at them. I feel this was my biggest mistake. I could have stopped him there itself, but I gave him a platform which escalated the situation. I want to apologise to everyone who got hurt because of this. I am also cooperating with the authorities in any legal proceedings against me. I only request you all to give me one more chance. I will prove that I can become a better person."
