Sai Pallavi reveals why she chose an acting career after completing her medical education. In a special episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 18, Amitabh Bachchan asked the actress how she ended up in movies after studying MBBS. 

While Sai answers the question, a witty response from her Ramayana co-star, Ranbir Kapoor, made everyone laugh at the moment.  

Why Did Sai Pallavi Gave Up Medicine?

In the promotional clip of the upcoming KBC 18 episode, Amitabh Bachchan asked Sai Pallavi about her career switch from medicine to acting. “You studied to become a doctor. And you ended up here. How?” Bachchan asked.

In answer, Sai replied, “That is how God wrote it. It was written that I was supposed to act.”

The Ramayana actress attributed her transition from MBBS to acting to destiny rather than explaining a detailed reason for choosing to do acting as a profession. 

Ranbir Kapoor, who was present with Sai Pallavi to promote Ramayana, then added a humorous explanation of his own.

“Bhagwan ka prescription tha, Sir, that she has to act,” he said, drawing cheers and applause from the audience. The response from Ranbir turned the conversation into a lighthearted moment. 

Did Sai Pallavi Complete Her MBBS?

Yes. Sai Pallavi holds a MBBS degree from Tbilisi State Medical University in Georgia. She entered into the acting profession only after completing her studies as reported by the Times Of India.

She rose to prominence with the Malayalam film Premam (2015) and subsequently built a career across Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil cinema. Her filmography includes Fidaa, Love Story and Gargi, among other projects.

Sai Pallavi with Ranbir Kapoor are set to appear on Kaun Bnaega Crorepati 18 alongside their co-star Ravie Dubey to promote their upcoming movie Ramayana. 

The special episodes are scheduled to air on October 29 and 30, 2026, at 9 pm on Sony Entertainment Television. They will also be available on SonyLIV, according to NDTV.
