Sinners has created history by becoming first movie to earn 16 Oscar nominations. The movie has been directed and produced by Ryan Cooper and is set in 1932 in the Mississippi Delta. The film features Michael B. Jordan in a striking dual role as twin criminal brothers who return to their hometown in the Jim Crow–era South, only to come face-to-face with a sinister supernatural force.

About the movie: Sinners is a 2025 American horror film. The project was developed under Coogler’s production banner, Proximity Media, with Jordan attached to the lead role from the early stages. Announced in January 2024, Sinners sparked a major bidding war before Warner Bros. Pictures secured distribution rights the following month. Additional cast members were brought on board in April 2024, while principal photography took place between April and July 2024. The film’s music was composed by Coogler’s longtime collaborator Ludwig Göransson, who also served as an executive producer.
Sinners premiered on April 3, 2025, at AMC Lincoln Square in New York City, ahead of its theatrical release in the United States on April 18, 2025, by Warner Bros. Pictures. The film was met with widespread critical acclaim and went on to earn $368.3 million worldwide against an estimated budget of $90–100 million.
