Sirai, the recently released Kollywood crime drama starring Vikram Prabhu in the lead, is creating a massive buzz following its arrival on OTT. The film has struck a chord with audiences and critics alike, earning widespread appreciation for its mature and sensitive portrayal of a complex social issue. Viewers from across the country have praised the film’s thoughtful storytelling and impactful performances, helping it gain strong word-of-mouth after its digital premiere.

Sirai OTT Release Details

Adding to its success, Sirai has scripted a new milestone on ZEE5 by becoming the fastest film on the platform to cross 156 million streaming minutes. Remarkably, the movie achieved this feat in just five days, underlining its immense popularity. The film’s appeal is not limited to Tamil-speaking audiences alone, as it continues to receive positive responses from viewers across different languages.

The film is directed by debutant Suresh Rajakumari, based on a story penned by Taanakkaran (2022) fame Tamizh. This project marks Tamizh’s second collaboration with Kathiravan Prabhu, reuniting after his acclaimed directorial debut Taanakkaran. In addition to writing the story, Tamizh has also co-written the screenplay alongside Suresh Rajakumari, who previously worked as an assistant director under filmmaker Vetrimaaran. The film is produced by S.S. Lalit Kumar under his Seven Screen Studio banner.

The cast features Kathiravan Prabhu in the lead role, alongside Anantha as the female lead. Anishma Anilkumar, known for I Am Kathalan (2024) and Maranamass (2025), plays a pivotal role, marking her Tamil debut. Kathiravan Prabhu is said to be portraying a police officer in the film, while producer Lalit Kumar’s son, L.K. Akshay Kumar, makes his acting debut as an accused.

Filming was completed in May 2025 after extensive shooting across Chennai, Sivagangai and Vellore. Post-production work began soon after the film’s official announcement in early August 2025. The technical crew includes Justin Prabhakaran as the music composer, Madhesh Manickam as the cinematographer, Philomin Raj handling editing duties, and Raghava Sanjivi serving as the production designer.
