Thalapathy Vijay is widely regarded as one of the most bankable and influential actors in the industry. He made his acting debut as a child artist in the film 'Vetri' (1984) and later transitioned to leading roles with 'Naalaiya Theerpu' (1992). He gained widespread recognition and a dedicated fan following for his performances in various successful films such as 'Poove Unakkaga' (1996), 'Ghilli' (2004), 'Thuppakki' (2012), 'Kaththi' (2014), and 'Mersal' (2017), among others. Now, the actor, who currently occupied with the shooting of director Venkat Prabhu's 'GOAT', is reportedly considering collaborating with director H Vinoth for his 69th film.
It has been announced that this 69th project will mark Vijay's final film venture before transitioning into full-time politics. Sources suggest that H Vinoth recently met Vijay and presented a story that left a favorable impression. There are speculations that his ultimate film will be backed by DVV Entertainment.
Thalapathy Vijay's last film
Filmmakers like Karthik Subbaraj, H Vinoth, and RJ Balaji were reportedly in discussions for Thalapathy Vijay's final film. However, with Karthik Subbaraj announcing his collaboration with Suriya, recent reports indicate that H Vinoth has likely secured a deal with Vijay. An official announcement regarding Vijay's upcoming project is expected in the coming months. Speculations suggest that Vijay's last film might be a full-fledged political thriller, possibly serving as a precursor to his entry into politics.
The actor has publicly declared his candidacy for the 2026 assembly elections. Earlier this year, Vijay established his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). He has outlined his plan to engage in full-time politics starting from 2026, dedicating the next two years to expanding his political influence and support base. In his statement, he wrote, "According to me, politics is not just another job for me. It's a sacred job. Not just political heights, I understood that I need to learn the length and breadth of politics from my predecessors. I am preparing myself for it mentally. So, politics is not a hobby. It's my deepest desire. I want to involve myself completely. Hence, I will complete one more film that I committed to and become a full-fledged politician. This is how I'd pay my debts to the people of Tamil Nadu."
