Popular Indian Music composer Thaman S, who is known for his songs like tum tum, kurchi madathapetti and jaragandi to name a few, has recently made some comments on marriage. When asked about his marriage plans, he shared that he is not ready for it at the moment. He further stated that it is difficult to find ‘one kind of girl society’. He further kept his opinion and stated that girls want to be independent and don’t want to stay under someone. Well, his statement about marriage and Independent woman did not go well with the netizens.
Earlier in an interview with Nikhil Vijayendra Simha for his podcast, Thaman said “Right now, I don’t want anyone to get married. It’s become tough because the girls also, they want to be independent in life. They don’t want to be under (any) one. So, I think we lost kind of that…one kind of girl society.”
“And post covid, everything changed. I think Instagram is one of the main killers also. Maybe, I don’t know if I’m using the right words. Because, we only share beautiful things there, but not the struggle that goes behind it. But right now, I don’t recommend marriages; it’s become very tough to understand the standards. I see people getting divorced left and right; it has become common. No one wants to adjust,” he added in the interview.
His statement received a lot of backlash. A user said, “Omg! You don’t recommend marriages because women want to be independent? Because they’ve stopped being innocent? Oh sorry! You mean they stopped being dumb? I did not expect this from you teddy anna. You’re no different from a misogynist.” A fan commented, “we lost obedient girls’ that’s the right words you were looking for?” Another comment read, “If you're not capable of being with an independent woman, it's your fault, not theirs!!!!” Another user said, “So basically he wants a controlling friendly woman anamata... Wah.” A netizen wrote, “girls want to be "independent" so marraiges r not working. So if they r slaves n dependent then marraiges work…” Another user said, “So, he doesn't want to get married because he can't find a girl who can be dependent under him?! Tf”
