On October 20, the eagerly awaited 'Yaariyan 2,' featuring Divya Khosla Kumar and Meezan Jafri, made its entrance into theaters. This film serves as a sequel to the beloved 2014 production 'Yaariyan.' Interestingly, it went head-to-head with the action-packed feature 'Ganapath,' starring Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon, on a Friday showdown. Now, let's explore the film's initial box office earnings and reception.

As per information from Sacnilk, 'Yaariyan 2' had a modest performance on its opening day at the box office. The film managed to garner a total of Rs 0.50 crore net in India on its debut day. Furthermore, 'Yaariyan 2' recorded an overall Hindi occupancy rate of 5.65% on Friday, October 20, 2023.

Speaking about the film, Divya told the Bombay Times, "I don’t take on a project just for the sake of it. The subject has to ignite passion in me. Until directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru presented me with this unique and entertaining story based on yaariyan between three cousins, I hadn’t found a suitable story that could do justice to the brand. ‘Yaariyan 2’ is probably the first Hindi film to capture the bond between cousins on screen."

She added, "When I work with a director in the capacity of an actor, it’s crucial for me that I trust their vision, surrender to it, and never question their judgment. The character, Laadli, has been written keeping my real self in mind. The directors know me personally and my goofy and witty nature. So, while my co-actors had to work hard to get into their character, I just had to be myself (smiles). ‘Yaariyan 2’ is important to me because my character is beautifully etched out. The audience will get to see me in a full-fledged role for the first time in a Bollywood film."

The romantic drama is under the direction of Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Aayush Maheshwari, the film falls under the T-Series Films and Sapru Films Production banners. Starring in this film are Yash Dasgupta, Anaswara Rajan, Meezaan Jafri, Warina Hussain, Priya Prakash Varrier, and Pearl V Puri.
