Gurugram: GMDA CEO Issues Strict Orders For Timely Completion Of Major Projects; Focus On Road, Waterlogging
GMDA has adopted a strict stance to ensure the timely completion of major infrastructure projects aimed at improving the city's traffic system and drainage.

The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has adopted a strict stance to ensure the timely completion of major infrastructure projects aimed at improving the city's traffic system and drainage. On Monday, GMDA Chief Executive Officer PC Meena, while reviewing the progress of four significant infrastructure projects, made it clear that delays at any level will no longer be tolerated.

The progress of the redevelopment of Vyapar Kendra Road (Sector 27/43) and Hamilton Court Road (Sector 27/28), the MG Road streetscaping project, and the construction of the Leg-4 drain from Vatika Chowk to NH-48 on the Southern Peripheral Road were discussed in detail during the review meeting. The CEO stated that all these projects are crucial for improving public facilities and strengthening the city's infrastructure.

The road development works will smooth traffic flow, enhance pedestrian safety, and ease commuting. Furthermore, the construction of the Leg-4 drain will provide relief from waterlogging in the SPR area and reduce the pressure on the Badshahpur drain during the monsoon.

The CEO has directed the concerned SDOs (Sub-Divisional Officers) and JEs (Junior Engineers) to conduct site inspections twice a day and share daily progress updates with photographs in the official monitoring group. Additionally, the Executive Engineer will map the weekly progress of all projects, which must clearly state the achievements along with the reasons for any obstacles or delays.

PC Meena clarified that strict action will be taken against the responsible officials and engineers if any negligence in supervision or work is found. Instructions were also given to ensure effective dust control measures at all construction sites to control air pollution and prevent inconvenience to the public.
