The half-burnt body of a young man was recovered from a drain corridor in Fazilpur, located under the jurisdiction of the Badshahpur police station. The police have sent the body for a post-mortem examination, but his identity has not yet been established. An investigation into the matter has been launched.

Discovery Of The Body

The Badshahpur police stated that on Wednesday morning, some residents of Fazilpur informed the police control room about the burnt body. Acting on this information, the local police, along with the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and the Scene of Crime team, arrived at the spot.

Investigation Details

During the initial investigation, no documents or items were found on the victim that could help establish his identity. The body was found in a partially charred condition. Police recovered a liquor bottle from the crime scene. Based on his appearance, the police suspect the deceased was a laborer.

Efforts are being made to identify the victim by questioning people in the surrounding areas. Police officials stated that his identity is likely to be ascertained soon.

Theories On Cause Of Death

The exact cause of death is yet to be determined. One theory suggests that the youth might have accidentally caught fire after consuming alcohol at night, leading to his death. However, locals have also expressed apprehension that the youth may have been murdered and his body subsequently set on fire to destroy evidence.

The police are currently investigating the case from multiple angles.
