Gurugram: Laborer Dies After Soil Collapses In DLF Phase-3; Heart Rupture Cited As Cause

A labourer has died in Nathupur, Gurugram, after soil collapsed while the foundation for a plot was being dug. The deceased was 45-year-old Karn Ahirwal from Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, who lived in the slums of Nathupur. The incident occurred on Monday evening when Karn was working in a two-foot pit and soil from an adjacent area fell on him. He was declared dead at the hospital; the post-mortem report cited a ruptured heart as the cause of death.

A 45-year-old laborer died on Monday evening after being buried under a mound of soil while digging a foundation for a plot in Nathupur, DLF Phase-3.

Victim Identification

The deceased has been identified as Karn Ahirwal, originally from Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh. He resided with his family in the slums of Nathupur. His wife, Anita, was working alongside him at the site when the incident occurred.

Details Of The Incident

The Accident: Karn was standing in a pit approximately 2 feet deep when earth from the adjacent area suddenly collapsed on top of him. 

Rescue Attempt: Local residents immediately pulled him out from under the soil and rushed him to a hospital.

Outcome: Despite rescue efforts, doctors at the hospital pronounced him dead upon arrival.

Medical And Police Report

Cause of Death: Doctors who conducted the post-mortem examination stated that the victim's heart had ruptured due to the pressure of being buried under the earth.

Police Action: On Tuesday, the police handed over the body to the family following the completion of the post-mortem examination.
