To enhance the experience for devotees at the SiddhapeethSheetla Mata Temple, the Shri Mata Sheetla Shrine Board is replacing the existing concrete (RCC) road with a new rubberised path. This project, modeled after synthetic rubber athletic tracks, aims to provide a permanent solution to the difficulties faced by pilgrims.
Addressing Devotee Discomfort
Many devotees from surrounding districts and other states visit the temple and, as a mark of devotion, walk barefoot from the main entrance to the shrine. During the intense summer heat, the concrete path becomes extremely hot, causing pain and even blisters on the feet of pilgrims, especially women, children and the elderly. The rough surface and loose pebbles also add to their discomfort.
Currently, the board lays down mats on the path to offer temporary relief. However, the new rubber road will provide a more durable and comfortable surface year-round.
Collaboration With State Bank Of India
This initiative is being funded and executed by the State Bank of India (SBI) as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. Following discussions between the Shrine Board and SBI officials last week, all necessary paperwork has been completed.
According to Sumit Kumar, CEO of the Shri Sheetla Mata Shrine Board, construction on the new rubber road is set to begin soon.
