New Gurugram Flyover: Sati Chowk Project To Cut Dwarka-Manesar Travel To 30 Mins

Construction of a flyover at Sati Chowk (Sector 86), located on the Multi-Utility Corridor considered the lifeline of new Gurugram, is scheduled to begin next year. The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) will soon issue a tender for its construction and is currently working on the Detailed Notice Inviting Tender (DNIT).

The decision was taken in a GMDA meeting to address the increasing traffic pressure at Sati Chowk, which sees over 50,000 vehicles pass through daily and experiences heavy traffic jams, especially during peak morning and evening hours.

Project Details And Timeline

Cost: Rs 59 crore will be spent on the flyover's construction.

Timeline: GMDA officials state the tender process will be completed by December. Construction work is set to begin in 2026.

Location: The flyover will be built on the 5.5-kilometre-long Multi-Utility Corridor (which is already completed) and will pass over the six-lane Rampura-Pataudi Road.

Key Benefits Of The Flyover

Reduced Congestion: The flyover will eliminate the traffic bottleneck at Sati Chowk, where traffic from the Dwarka Expressway and the Delhi-Jaipur Highway (via Rampura Chowk) converges.

Faster Commutes: It will make the journey from Gurugram to Manesar and from Delhi's Dwarka to Manesar significantly easier. It is expected to be possible to reach Manesar from Dwarka in just 30 minutes.

Toll Alternative: The Multi-Utility Corridor is increasingly used by commuters as an alternative route to avoid traffic and the KherkiDaula toll plaza on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway.

Boost to Industry & Residency: The project will benefit:

- Residents of more than 15 sectors in new Gurugram (from Sector 80 to 95).

- Industries in new Gurugram and IMT Manesar, as many vehicles serving the industrial area pass through this route.

- Students of Gurugram University, whose new campus is being developed 1.5 kilometres away in Sector 87.

- Arun Dhankhar, Chief Engineer at GMDA, confirmed, "The DNIT for the flyover is being prepared. Rs 59 crore will be spent on the construction. Construction work will begin in the new year."
