Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday won the confidence motion, which he moved in the Delhi Assembly on Friday, alleging that the BJP tried to poach AAP MLAs by offering them Rs 25 crore to topple his government in the National Capital. Of the total 62 AAP MLAs, 54 supported CM Kejriwal. Of the remaining eight MLAs, who did not attend the Assembly session today, two have been lodged in jail while some are out of station and some are unwell.
During the discussions on the confidence motion, Arvind Kejriwal termed his Aam Aadmi Party the biggest challenger to BJP claiming that "this is why it is under attack from all sides." Kejriwal further asserted that AAP will remove the BJP from the Centre in the 2029 Lok Sabha elections even if the saffron party wins this year's Lok Sabha polls.

"The biggest challenger of BJP is Aam Aadmi Party. Today if BJP is scared of anyone, it is AAP. With utmost responsibility, I want to say that if BJP does not lose Lok Sabha elections in 2024, then AAP will make India free from BJP in 2029," Kejriwal said.
The Delhi chief minister, who is also the AAP convenor, said his government has a majority in the House but it needed to bring the motion of confidence because the BJP was trying to poach party MLAs and topple his government.
Kejriwal also asserted that no AAP MLA had defected, adding that several MLAs explained how they were contacted and offered money to switch sides, allegedly by BJP people. The chief minister asserted that the BJP thought it could finish the AAP by arresting him. "You may arrest me but how will you finish Kejriwal's thoughts?" he asked.

The Delhi chief minister alleged that the BJP, through control over the Services department and the bureaucracy, was obstructing the work of his government. Kejriwal said he has faced attacks in the past, been slapped, got ink thrown on him and now they want to arrest him. "They claim to be Ram bhakt but they stopped medicines for the poor people in our hospitals. Did Lord Ram ask for stopping medicines for the poor people?" he said.
