Assam is preparing for a major single-phase election on April 9, 2026, with over 2.9 crore citizens eligible to vote across 126 constituencies. During elections, many voters often lack information regarding their names on the electoral roll or their specific polling booth locations, leading to significant difficulties on election day. 

To address this and to ensure a smooth experience at the polls, the Election Commission of India (ECI) encourages all voters to confirm their registration and locate their designated polling stations ahead of time.

How To Find Name In Assam Voter List

Method 1: Online Verification

The quickest way to verify your status is through the ECI's digital portal.

Visit official website at electoralsearch.eci.gov.in

Input Details: You can search using your EPIC (Voter ID) number or by entering your Name, District, and Constituency.

View Results: The system will display your registration status, exact polling booth address, and part number.

Method 2: SMS 

Voters acn also search their names through SMS, it does not required any internet connection, you can retrieve your details via text message.

Format: Type ECI <Your Voter ID Number> and send it to 1950.

Example: If your ID is ABC1234567, text "ECI ABC1234567" to 1950. You will receive an automated reply with your booth information.

Method 3: The Voter Helpline App

Voters can visit Candidate Affidavit Portal or download the Voter Helpline App (Android) and Voter Helpline App (iOS) to see the list of candidates. Please note this data is updated as affidavits are filed by candidates.

Election Date: April 9, 2026.

Voting Window: Polls open at 7:00 am and close at 6:00 pm.

The Queue Rule: If you are already standing in line by 6:00 pm, you are legally entitled to cast your vote.

Single-Phase Poll: All 126 Assembly seats will vote on the same day.

Campaigning Restrictions: A "Silence Period" begins 48 hours before the polls close, during which all public campaigning is prohibited.
