In a major update for the commuters, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is set to begin metro services earlier than its regular timings on April 26. In its statement, the authority stated that the service has been extended to encourage participants in the TCS World 10K run scheduled from the Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw Parade ground.
As per its statement, the BMRCL is set to begin services at particular stations at around 3:00 am instead of 7:00 am.

Key Routes and Timings:
- Whitefield (Kadugodi) - 3.30 am
- Challaghatta- 3.35 am
- Madavara- 3.20 am
- Silk Institute- 3.30 am
- Bommasandra- 3.00 am
BMRCL stated that services will run at an interval of 15 minutes for one hour after the first train, then at 30 minutes interval till 7.00 am. The metro will follow its regular schedule after 7.00 am.

The BMRCL has advised commuters to use the QR code facility for booking to avoid disruptions.
The TCS World 10k run is a major international running event that attracts thousands of participants from across India and abroad. Large crowds are expected on roads around the starting point. The temporary increase in the service is intended to reduce traffic congestion and minimise overcrowding around the event location.
