A minor boy was detained after a woman alleged that he was secretly recording videos inside the ladies’ toilet of a movie theatre in Bengaluru on Sunday night. The incident occurred during the screening of the re-released Telugu film Nuvvu Naaku Nachav at Sandhya Cinema Theatre.
According to a report by NDTV, women who went to use the washroom noticed a camera placed inside and immediately raised an alarm. People present at the theatre rushed to the spot, caught the accused, assaulted him, and later handed him over to the police.
Police said they received information around 9:30 pm through the emergency helpline “Namma 112”. A patrol vehicle and staff from Madiwala Police Station were rushed to the location, where they brought the situation under control. The juvenile was safely rescued from the crowd and taken to the police station. Another suspect was also detained for questioning.
Based on the complaint filed by the women, the minor and his mobile phone were taken into custody for investigation. Police also said that the management committee of Sandhya Cinema Theatre is being questioned in connection with the incident. Efforts are underway to trace another accused who is currently absconding, and further investigation is in progress.
In a separate incident, a 13-year-old girl in Hubballi, Karnataka, was allegedly gang-raped by three minor boys aged 14 to 15. Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissioner N Shashikumar said the victim has been provided protection and all three accused have been detained. Karnataka Police have registered a case against the minors under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

According to police, the girl was reportedly assaulted repeatedly over a week while her parents were away. Her family also alleged that the accused threatened her, claiming they had recorded a video of the assault. Authorities are seizing the suspects' mobile phones and carrying out a detailed investigation under the POCSO Act and the Juvenile Justice Act.
